What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at Family Wellness Fargo?
Position Purpose:
Responsible for the financial and accounting activities of Family Wellness, LLC. This includes the ongoing administration of cash management and control procedures, membership and program financial records, fiscal and long range planning, preparing financial statements, and business analysis.
Job Specific Competencies:
- Manages monthly financial forecasting and budget review.
- Assists Director of Administration with all financial reporting and analysis.
- Conducts the financial audit process in partnership with external auditors.
- Manages the accrual-based financials with extreme accuracy of revenue reconciliation, deferred revenue tracking, and partners with each manager to assure understanding.
- Oversees all daily deposits, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and accounting for payroll and benefits.
- Manages vendor relationships and transactions, invoices, cash reconciliation.
- Assures the security and integrity of finances and financial information of the members and the organization.
- Manages club management software as it relates to business accounting software and billing needs..
- Oversees collections, financial errors, checks and payments.
- Processes monthly billing and declined dues.
- Collaborates with department leaders to improve efficiencies in process relating to reporting, accounting, and financials.
- Responsible for contributing to the organizational strategic growth plan via annual business audits, evaluations, and submission of multi-year business plans.
- Responsible for preparing contractual proposals, including creative/unique concepts and approaches as needed. Increases efficiency of accounting process.
- Manages accounting records for fixed assets of the organization.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance with a minimum of 3 years experience required. Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and related laws and regulations is required. Must be able to prepare, analyze, and report financial information and be able to work with computerized accounting systems. Must also possess supervisory, communication, and leadership skills. Incumbent must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills as well as being proficient in business accounting software (Quickbooks) and Microsoft Office. Experience in the fitness club, health care, or wellness field preferred. Experience working in a nonprofit organization strongly preferred.
