What are the responsibilities and job description for the Visitation Facilitator position at Family Works, Inc.?
Family Works, Inc. is hiring several Visitation Facilitators. This is a part-time position:hours vary upon the needs of the family. The Family Works, Inc. Visitation Facilitator is required to: provided supervised visitation to families and children involved with the Department of Child Services and be able to work afternoons, evenings and weekends.
Visitation Facilitators will assist the family by strengthening, teaching, demonstrating, role modeling appropriate skills and monitoring in, but not limited to the following areas: establishing and/or strengthening the parent/child relationship, instructing parents in child care skills such as feeding, diapering, administering medication if necessary, proper hygiene, teaching positive affirmations, praising when appropriate, providing instruction about child development stages, current and future, teaching safety regarding age-appropriate toys, climbing, running, jumping or other safety issues depending upon the environment, managing needs of children of differing ages at the same time, helping parents gain confident in meeting their child's needs, visit planning, etc.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or a directly related human service field from an accredited university. Transcript must be provided.
Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and have the ability to transport self and children to and from visits as needed.
Bilingual skills are not required, but are considered an asset.
