FamilyCare is looking for an Ultrasound Technician to work TWO DAYS per week at the Birth Center in Charleston.

This employee must be able to assist patients onto the table top and into positioning per ordered Ultrasounds. Qualifications:
National Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) and Licensed by the State.
Basic Function:
Produce all Ultrasound images and oversee the digital transfer to specified Radiologist for interpretation if required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet and greet patients and explain the Ultrasound procedure
- Ability to position each patient per ordered exam
- Knowledge of when to use protective devices such as lead aprons and shields to meet Radiation Safety Standard
- Competency to set the ultrasound probe to the proper distance and angle for the examination being performed
- Produce the best diagnostic images that are reproducible using the computer program for the department
- Generate findings report for interpretation
- Oversee and manage the transfer and archiving of digital images/reports
- Maintain all patient records according to HIPPA standards
- Check and Maintain equipment within Ultrasound Departments
- Must have the aptitude to set controls using ARDMS standards
