About this Role:
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator plays a key role in advancing the mission of FamilyCore by driving awareness, engagement, and support through effective communication strategies. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing marketing and communication efforts to promote programs, engage stakeholders, and enhance the organization's visibility and impact.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Marketing and Campaign Management
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans aligned with organizational goals and programs.
- Create and manage targeted campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms to maximize engagement and outreach.
- Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance metrics to improve effectiveness.
- Content Development and Brand Representation
- Write, edit, and design engaging content for newsletters, blogs, press releases, brochures, and other materials.
- Maintain and update the organization's website to ensure accurate, timely, and engaging content.
- Design visually appealing materials that reflect and enhance the organization's branding.
- Community Outreach and Awareness
- Promote the organization's services and mission through multimedia coverage and visible community representation.
- Educate the community about programs, services, and initiatives using innovative marketing projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and secure appropriate funding sources.
- Media Relations and Publicity
- Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to increase coverage of events, programs, and accomplishments.
- Draft and distribute press releases, pitch stories, and coordinate media interviews to promote the organization's mission.
- Event Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement
- Develop and implement promotional campaigns to drive attendance and participation at events.
- Maintain clear, consistent communication with donors, volunteers, and partners to foster strong relationships.
- Assist in creating donor appeals and gratitude messages that highlight the impact of their support.
- Team Collaboration and Organizational Support
- Contribute to quality improvement and evaluation initiatives as part of the team.
- Provide training and guidance to staff and volunteers on brand guidelines and marketing protocols.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Professional and Operational Standards
- Adhere to the standards set by the Council on Accreditation and ensure compliance with all safety protocols and policies.
- Maintain organized data and uphold confidentiality in all activities.
- Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and cultural competency.

Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in marketing, communications, journalism, or related area required.
- 2 years related experience required. Substitution allowed for some college and/or equivalent experience.
- Customer relations, donor relations, or sales experience required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Competency:
Technical Skills:
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in graphic design tools and content management systems.
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms, analytics tools, and social media scheduling tools.
- Working knowledge of fundraising software and marketing best practices.
- Proficiency with time-tracking software and other relevant tools.

Compliance and Professional Requirements:
- Must possess a valid Illinois Driver's License in good standing and proof of valid vehicle insurance.
- Safe, reliable personal vehicle available for FamilyCore business.
- Must pass background checks with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Health Care Worker Registry, and Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services OIG Provider Sanctions.
- Successfully complete all required FamilyCore training.
Physical:
- Regular sitting, walking, standing, grasping, fingering, reaching and lifting, pulling, pushing up to 15 lbs.
- Occasional stooping and reaching overhead.
- Operate general office equipment, including multi-line phone, fax machine, printer, copier, and personal computer, with or without dual monitors
