Position Summary: The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for planning and organizing food services for up to twelve youth ages 9-21 in a residential treatment setting. The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for menu planning, food purchasing and preparation along with the maintenance of the work areas and equipment to ensure the residents' nutritional needs are met.
Assignments
- Plan, prepare and document a monthly schedule of three nutritionally balanced meals and two snacks a day, with the ability to accommodate special diets as needed.
- Meal preparation for up to 12 residents and staff.
- Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of the kitchen areas, equipment and appliances in accordance with all regulations.
- Ensure food safety in accordance with county and state regulations and standards with regards to all food preparation and serving areas.
- Maintain the food inventory and purchases supplies within the designated budget.
- Provide accurate and timely documentation of purchasing inventories and any other necessary supplies.
- Required to comply with all licensing regulations, contractual requirements, accreditation standards, and agency policies and procedures related to the YFS department.
General Assignments
- Record time and attendance via HRIS and Timekeeping system
- Attend meetings/training as requested/required
- Model the organization's mission and values
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
- Proficiency with MS Office, computer/laptop, tablet and cell phone required
- Will need to be able to implement elements of Safe Crisis Management.
- Interact with youth ages 9 - 21 in a residential treatment setting.
- A High School diploma or equivalent along with a minimum of two years relevant food service experience.
- A valid driver's license along with access to a vehicle.
- Management of work processes along with proficient computer skills for documentation.
Working Conditions
- Employee work schedule may include weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to travel to the various shopping locations.
- Ability to lift and carry medium weight of boxes of supplies (less than 25 pounds) on occasion.
- Ability to perform all functions and duties of food service coordination in a trauma-informed, specialized residential setting.
Required Training
- Ability to pass any requisite Pennsylvania state and Mercer County food safety certification(s).
