Position Summary
Liaison between healthcare guarantors and the business entity which may be in a first party outsourced environment. Responds to customer phone call inquiries regarding the products and services which the outsourcing healthcare organization provides. Records information regarding the calls into a database. Depending on the organization that provides the products or service, the duties and responsibilities of the agent may vary. Collection Specialist will engage with the guarantors on the phone to explain options for resolving the debt and will facilitate repayment, consistent with the federal, state and company regulations and policies. Other duties may include administrative-type projects as requested such as responding to inquiries, disputes and or comments within the allotted time frame and in adherence with quality and compliance standards.
Qualifications / Requirements
- High school diploma supplemented with 2 years customer service or related field
- Attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Interpersonal skills and ability to converse with diverse people
- Organizational/planning skills
- Ability to work independently or effectively in a team with minimal supervision
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
Job Responsibilities
- Answering inbound calls and assists customers with inquiries, questions, or accepting payments
- Making outbound calls to return messages left or as necessary for a particular project
- Post patient payments to the computerized system
- Updating the database with any updates to the present status of the account information
- Providing high standard professional customer service
- Complete daily back up documentation for storage and future research
- Meet production and attendance standards
- Participate with team in a dead-line driven performance environment
- Other administrative type duties as required
