JOB DESCRIPTION

The EHS Supervisor will collaborate closely with our distribution operations teams to ensure the implementation and sustainability of a health and safety management system that aligns with ISO 45001 or ILO guidelines for Occupational Health and Safety. The Environmental Management System (EMS) will meet or exceed ISO 14001 standards. The EHS Supervisor will drive a safety culture that prioritizes the well-being of all associates and ensures compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Culture Leadership: Lead the promotion of a safety-first mindset across all Fanatics operations. Inspire a culture where every associate is committed to creating a safe working environment and fully adheres to Fanatics’ safety policies and procedures.
  • Compliance Guidance and Audits: Collaborate with site leadership to ensure adherence to federal and state safety regulations. Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly audits to identify compliance gaps, safety risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Policy Development & Updates: Proactively propose new or updated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) policies, procedures, and programs. Focus on raising awareness, improving compliance, and minimizing workplace injuries and incidents. This includes overseeing post-incident investigations, audits, risk evaluations, behavioral observation programs, and more.
  • Ownership & Accountability: Work with site leadership to assign ownership and accountability for the implementation of EH&S policies, procedures, and programs. Monitor and report progress to ensure continual improvement.
  • Incident Analysis & Resource Allocation: Analyze injury metrics and incident trends to determine resource allocation, ensuring focus on high-risk areas.
  • Communication & Reporting: Regularly communicate EHS metrics, trends, and corrective action plans to site leadership and the EH&S Director.
  • Safety Committee Leadership: Lead and support the Safety Committee and First Responder teams to maintain required certifications and improve safety readiness.
  • First Aid & Medical Response: Provide immediate medical assistance and support to associates, visitors, vendors, or guests in need of help.
  • Training & Development: Develop and conduct training programs that ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, including OSHA requirements. Create training materials that can be adapted across multiple locations.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local safety, health, and environmental regulations. Conduct audits and ensure the closure of corrective actions resulting from near-miss, incident, and injury reviews.
  • Hazard Identification & Control: Identify hazards within the workplace, recommend mitigation strategies, and implement necessary controls. Measure the effectiveness of these controls and continuously seek improvements to reduce risks.
  • Risk Assessments: Conduct job-specific risk assessments and evaluate new equipment introductions. Provide recommendations to management on mitigating risks, including ergonomic considerations.
  • Incident Investigation: Lead accident and incident investigations using root cause analysis tools. Report findings, track corrective actions, and ensure follow-up on all safety incidents.
  • Workers Compensation Management: Collaborate with Human Resources to manage workers' compensation claims effectively.
  • Regulatory Awareness: Stay informed about regulatory changes at the federal, state, and local levels, and communicate their impact on company policies and strategies.
  • Safety Metrics Reporting: Maintain and report daily, weekly, and monthly safety metrics, sharing relevant information with facility teams and leadership.
  • Government Liaison: Serve as the primary contact for safety inspections and represent the site in local community safety councils or committees.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, ergonomics, or a related field, or at least 4 years of relevant work experience.

Key Skills And Experience

  • Lean Principles: Proficiency in applying lean principles and process improvements to enhance operational safety.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with site leadership and associates.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  • Goal Setting & Strategy Implementation: Ability to develop, implement, and measure departmental goals and strategies.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to solve complex problems related to health and safety.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with changing priorities and strategies.
  • Experience in Safety Management: Previous experience in distribution, fulfillment, logistics, or manufacturing environments with a workforce of at least 250 people, including both exempt and non-exempt employees, is preferred.
