Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Supervisor to lead our team in providing exceptional environmental services within a casino and horse race track setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in custodial and commercial cleaning, with a focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation. As a Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of EVS staff staff to ensure effective cleaning and sanitation of the property.
- Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure adherence to cleanliness standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Train new employees on proper cleaning techniques, safety protocols, and equipment usage.
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules that meet the needs of the facility while optimizing staff efficiency.
- Approve timecards and pto requests
- Create a budget and forecast needs for FY 2026
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for staff use.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by staff or management regarding cleaning practices or safety compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that environmental services align with overall hospital operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in environmental services or custodial management within a hotel, casino or hospitality setting required.
- 3 Years of budgeting experience; advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
- Computer aptitude; 3 years of Microsoft Suite, ADP, Workday experience required.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices, commercial cleaning techniques, and floor care methods.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to workplace safety and environmental services.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff at all levels.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed to meet the demands of the facility.
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Illinois Gaming License and a Illinois Racing License.
