Job Description
As a valued contributor to our team, you will be responsible for supporting operations, reporting, and compliance in the oversight of the theoretical and empirical research in all areas of mortgage finance business, including mortgage products and securities, borrower behavior, investment and hedging strategies, residential property valuation, macroeconomic models, including housing prices and interest rate, financial valuation of finance assets and derivatives, economic capital, and stress testing. In this role, you will help develop and manage business and system processes supporting model governance and risk management.

The Enterprise Model Risk - Quantitative Modeling - Advisor role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
- Assist team in supporting and maintaining technological functions supporting model governance, inventory, reporting, and compliance
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders to understand all aspects of the workflow processes managed for model validation, model performance monitoring, and model issue management; generate recommendations and technology solutions for identified patterns
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, reported, mitigated, and controlled.
- Provide innovative thorough, and practical solutions that improve business performance and support business strategies and initiatives.
- Design, implement, and maintain an inventory of technology-supported processes and controls supporting model governance
- Participate in producing qualitative and quantitative analyses for system evaluation, project management, and executive-level reports
- Apply understanding of relevant business context to process design, which may include the application of mathematic, statistical, and econometric techniques. Oversee ad hoc quantitative analyses, modeling, or programming using Salesforce, Tableau, SAS, SQL, R, or Python.
- Participate in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence.
Qualifications
THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
Minimum Required Experiences
- 6 years in system design and development with specific focus on business applications and use cases
- 4 years in model governance, validation, reporting, or operations
- Experience working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work towards a common goal
- Excellent oral and written communication; experienced at presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand
- Communication including communicating in writing or verbally, copywriting, planning and distributing communication, etc.
- Demonstrated expertise in translating business concepts into system requirements and workflows, i.e., converting high-level, non-technical ideas into system documentation and granular pseudo-code or code appropriate for system deployment
- Skilled in creating visual concepts, creating content, and editing content by hand or with the help with computer software to communicate ideas, including use of relevant technology (Figma, Visio, etc.)
- Adept at engaging with leadership and key stakeholders to drive consensus and action, including the ability to explain technology solutions and processes in business terms
- Influencing skills including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict
- Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Skilled in determining causes of operating errors and taking corrective action
- Adept at analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data; critical thinking
- Expertise in automated solutions, including AI/ML methodologies facilitating business processes
- Experience with quantitative analytics applied to one or more areas within credit, interest rate, counterparty credit risk, and/or fixed income valuation in the financial services industry
- Skilled in the graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards using programs and tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
- Proficiency with software code and project management tools, including JIRA and Git
- Proficiency in AWS, Salesforce and SQL environments, including coding and back-end/database management
Desired Experiences
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Master's degree in a technical field preferred
- Experience in Governance and Compliance including interpretation of policies, evaluating compliance, creating and enforcing standards and controls, etc.
- Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as SAS, R, or Python
- Experience related to Learning and Training including conducting, developing, and evaluating training, instructional design, and learning management systems

- Expertise in using statistical methods, including: developing and testing hypotheses, using experimental design, and running linear and logistic regressions.

- Governance and Compliance including creating policies, evaluating compliance, conducting internal investigations, developing data governance, etc.
- Experience evaluating businesses, projects, budgets, and other financial entities or instruments to determine viability, stability, and performance.
- Business Insight including advising, designing business models, interpreting customer and market insights, forecasting, benchmarking, etc.
- Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
- Skilled in documentation and database reporting for the purposes of analysis, data discovery, and decision-making with the use of relevant software such as Crystal Reports, Excel, or SSRS
- Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand.
- Skilled in cloud technologies and cloud computing.
- Experience identifying and selecting strategic options, and identifying resources to meet the defined objectives
