Detention Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Correctional Officers. As a Correctional Officer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining safety and security within the correctional facility. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that requires strong communication skills, conflict management abilities, and a commitment to upholding the law.

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and supervise inmates to ensure compliance with facility rules and regulations
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of assigned areas
- Respond to emergencies and maintain control in potentially volatile situations
- Conduct searches of inmates, cells, and common areas for contraband
- Maintain accurate records and write detailed reports on incidents, inmate behavior, and daily activities
- Utilize CCTV systems to monitor inmate activity
- Assist in the transportation of inmates as needed
- Provide support and guidance to inmates in their rehabilitation efforts

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional education)
- Must be at least 18 years old (age requirements may vary by jurisdiction)
- Valid driver's license
- Strong conflict management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and regulations
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred Skills:
- Previous experience in law enforcement or corrections
- Military experience or training
