Fanning Howey is seeking an exceptional Design Architect to join our Ferndale, Michigan, office and play a crucial role in the company’s growth.

This individual will lead planning and design efforts for K-12 projects throughout Michigan. The candidate will engage clients in a collaborative design process that leads to the creation of smarter places for learning.
SUMMARY:
The Design Architect position will lead the entire design process, from conceptualization to final execution, with a focus on creating aesthetically pleasing, functional, and safe buildings and spaces. The role requires a strong attention to detail and a deep understanding of architectural design principles. He/she will drive innovation to increase efficiency and productivity, leading the planning and design efforts for K-12 projects. Additionally, this position involves engaging clients in a collaborative design process to ensure the final designs align with their needs and vision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the design process for assigned projects.
- Collaborate with design team members during the implementation of design to ensure clarity and quality of concept is maintained through detail level.
- Monitors project budget and schedule related to design efforts in cooperation with the Project Executive and Project Manager.
- Directs and/or performs rendering of design ideas through drawings, illustrations or 3D renderings.
- Participate in business development activities, project pursuits and interviews.
- Fosters an environment of exploration and high expectation.
- Engages engineering staff in developing integrated design strategies.
- Develops and conducts design presentations.
- Engages in ongoing professional development and education through appropriate programs and experience opportunities.
- Adheres to the Human Performance Code of Conduct, it supports Quality Assurance programs and fosters innovation to increase efficiency and productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS (Preferred):

Five (5) to fifteen (15) years of experience, with significant experience in the design of K-12 school(s).
A bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent; or seven (7) years related experience and/or training.
Proficient in Revit Knowledgeable and proficient in Microsoft Products.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
