We are seeking a talented and passionate Senior Scientist to join our growing team. You will lead chemistry efforts to develop multi-step chemical processes that will be implemented in our groundbreaking technology. As part of a fast-paced and collaborative startup environment, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to build core chemistry solutions for our sequencing technology.
Job Description
- Lead and design experimental strategies in developing proprietary polymers by adopting new chemical methods
- Develop and optimize protocols to accommodate cross-functional processes including the automation if necessary
- Adopt and adjust multiple timelines across diverse projects/goals in coordination with other functional progress
- Participate and engage in multi-disciplinary team activity, committed to the expeditious identification of problems and advance projects through the critical internal review process
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in organic, medicinal chemistry, or chemical engineering with several years (5~7 years) of professional experience in a biotech or pharma environment
- Extensive experience in developing novel chemical methodologies to synthesize and derivatize peptides/DNA, including solid-phase synthesis and advanced purification techniques
- Proficiency in contemporary protein (orthogonal) conjugation, and analytical methods such as mass spectrometry, HPLC, and NMR
- Deep understanding of Edman degradation in protein sequencing chemistry.
- Review research papers and intellectual property literature in support of ongoing investigation
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
