Essential Duties:
- Communicate with other managers as needed to determine workload for the day, week, etc.
- Notify Maintenance personnel of the projected workload and direct them in their daily activities.
- Schedule staffing as needed to accommodate workload.
- Reorder supplies as necessary to ensure adequate inventory is maintained.
- Notify Vice President of barriers to complete workload.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations as required.
- Discipline and counsel employees as needed to comply with company policies and performance expectations.
- Enforce all safety rules and promote the importance of safety in the performance of all job functions.
- Review timecards, total hours worked for each employee and submit to payroll weekly.
- Monitor and control the utilization of overtime.
- Provide training to employees as needed to facilitate adequate performance of job functions and to comply with company policy.
- Provide orientation to new employees and temporary service employees including proper work procedures, hazard communication standards and safe work practices.
- Select and hire new employees, as needed, to maintain adequate staffing, with the assistance of Talent Acquisition.
- Monitor the quality of work to ensure company expectations are met.
- Monitor the timeliness of work to avoid backlog and interruption of other operations.
- Consult with other managers as needed to identify solutions to quality or efficiency problems.
- Provide reports to management regarding department production on a weekly and monthly basis or as requested.
- Work with management to control the department budget and identify areas of cost savings.
- Participate in management meetings as required.
- Establish departmental policies and procedures in support of business objectives as necessary.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and inspections on electrical systems, heating and air systems, pumps, and boilers.
- Repair malfunctions to these systems as discovered or when reported.
- Make repairs to plumbing systems, car wash, and dewax equipment.
- Make the determination when a repair needs to be sub-contracted.
- Locate replacement equipment when needed.
- Assist maintenance personnel with more difficult vehicle repairs.
- Maintain a safe working environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- SHIFT: Monday – Friday 7:00am-3:30pm with the possibility of overtime and/or weekend work as directed by business need
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years’ experience electrical systems, plumbing, heating and air systems and vehicle maintenance
- 1 year of supervisory experience
- Valid US Driver’s License
- Obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge) issued by the Department of Homeland Security
- Drive both automatic and standard vehicles
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Microsoft excel and word.
- Strong organizational skills as well as being able to pay strict attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Deadline and detail oriented
Physical Attributes:
- Lift, push, and or pull up to 100lbs
- Stand, bend, and or kneel throughout shift
- Work at heights up to 20 feet
- Exposed to high noise levels and fumes within the Dewax facility
- Work exposed to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, rain, and or any other conditions out of doors
