Director of Information Technology

Position Summary: Lead, direct, and manage all aspects of Information Technology and Information Security functions for Farbest Foods, Farbest Farms, and JFS Milling operations to ensure the department provides efficient and effective technical support service. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is based out of the Farbest Corporate Office in Jasper, IN.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics

The ideal candidate would possess the following prior to hire:

• Thorough understanding of IT and its practical applications to support the company’s goals

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills within IT team and across departments

• Ability to enhance user experience by building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external customers
• Working knowledge of SQL
• Ability to plan, schedule, and collaborate with personnel at all locations
• Ability to anticipate and solve problems and think critically
• Ability to travel to all locations of Farbest Foods, Farbest Farms, and JFS Milling Operations and vendors or user conferences as necessary

• Ample experience using and maintaining Windows Operating Systems, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and related products

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field required. Additionally, at least 10 years of experience in managerial/supervisory IT positions preferred.

Physical Demands: Ability to work on a computer for extensive periods of time is required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for long periods, talk, see, and hear. The ability to travel by automobile is required. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment: This is primarily an in-person role, operating in a typical office environment with support occasionally needed beyond normal working days and hours. This support may be handled remotely.

Responsibilities

The Director of IT will perform tasks including, but not limited to, the following:

• • Provide IT leadership to Farbest Foods, Farbest Farms, and JFS Milling operations and direct staff
  • Manage a technically oriented team and develop direct reports to be successful in their roles within the organization
  • Collaborate with team to develop and implement business continuity protocols that minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
  • Consult key stakeholders across the entire organization to identify business and technology needs that optimize the use of information technology
  • Manage ongoing IT spend and propose capital spend by analyzing infrastructure and systems performance, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics
  • Partner with the business to evaluate, develop, and implement an IT strategy that supports business needs, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure
  • Manage relationships with IT vendors, including software providers
  • Oversee ERP implementations, as well as major and regular software updates and license management
  • Oversee Ticketing System and respond with team to address user issues
  • Ensure network security by following appropriate procedures and managing systems backups
  • Address technology needs and lead the adoption of best practices as needed
  • Respond with team to IT security audits
  • Maintain communication services such as internet, telephone, and cell phone
  • Manage company hardware, software, and other devices as needed
  • Manage systems, servers, networks, and interfaces and troubleshoot as needed
  • Provide desktop support and user access administration
