About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Grocery Clerk to join our team at Fareway Meat & Grocery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their shopping needs, answering questions, and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Clean and maintain the store's grocery department, including shelving, floors, and equipment, to ensure a clean and safe environment for customers and staff.
- Unload products from delivery trucks and stock shelves with products, ensuring accurate pricing and display of merchandise.
- Operate a Point of Sale (POS) system to efficiently check out customers, manage transactions, and process payments.
- Process cash and credit transactions, handle customer complaints, and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and friendly manner.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve sales goals, promote products, and provide excellent customer service.
- Participate in inventory management, counting and recording inventory levels, and reporting any discrepancies or issues to management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in retail or grocery industry preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with customers, colleagues, and management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and multitask.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
