Fareway Meat & Grocery is seeking an experienced Fleet Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our fleet operations, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our fleet vehicles.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill this position. The successful candidate will have a strong background in diesel and heavy equipment repair, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that all vehicles are in good working condition.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain work area cleanliness and safety
- Perform all levels of preventive maintenance and services on fleet equipment
- Complete repair orders accurately and legibly with all necessary information
- Repair and troubleshoot major components such as engine, transmissions, and differentials, to include replacing complete assemblies, fuel system components, etc.
- Utilize OEM software to perform diagnostic solutions of fleet vehicles
- Inspect and verify dimensions and clearances of parts to ensure conformance to factory specifications
- Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly
- Assign priority and process vehicle repair work orders
- Provide accurate documentation and filing
- Work safely, effectively, and cooperatively with team members, supervisors, drivers, dispatchers, and outside services
- Assist snow removal team at the wholesale complex
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with ability to obtain Class A CDL
- Thermo King/Carrier repair experience
- Diesel and heavy equipment/trailer mechanic skills
- BASIC COMPUTER SKILLS (DIAGNOSTIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE)
