Market Clerk

Job Function

We are seeking a team-oriented and hard-working individual to assist the meat market department with various tasks. Ideal candidates will be outgoing, friendly, dependable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Most positions are initially part-time, with opportunities to transition to full-time employment based on performance and available openings.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting all customers in their shopping needs.
• Clean and sanitize equipment daily to maintain a safe working environment.
• Participate in meat preparations, including cutting and other tasks as assigned.
• Accurately record and report inventory counts to ensure seamless operations.
• Support colleagues in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.

Basics Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old or older to apply.
• Able to work flexible hours, including Saturdays and some evenings.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and customers.
• Basic math skills for accurate record-keeping.

Physical Demands

• Standing for long periods, up to 8 hours per day.
• Repetitive lifting and grasping of objects.
• Frequent reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, and squatting.
• Lifting objects weighing 0-20 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Typical Equipment Used

• Grinders, slicers, knives, tenderizer, cooking equipment, and scales.
• Baling machine, stock carts, and manual pallet mover.

Work Environment

• Exposure to varying temperatures.
