What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate position at Farleigh Wada Witt?
Farleigh Wada Witt, a mid-sized law firm located in downtown Portland, is seeking an associate attorney to join its litigation practice group.
We are looking for candidates with 5 years’ relevant experience and the ability to both independently handle responsibilities for commercial litigation cases in state and federal courts in Oregon and Washington, as well as to provide litigation support in large, complex cases.
As an ideal candidate, you will have the proficiency to work independently; offer practical solutions to clients; manage multiple projects and timelines efficiently; manage all aspects of motion practice and discovery; have impressive writing and speaking skills; and an entrepreneurial mindset.
We work hard on a variety of interesting and sophisticated cases, but we also have a culture that encourages collegiality, teamwork, mentoring, outside interests and balance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Oregon or a jurisdiction with reciprocity
- Proven experience in litigation.
- Strong legal research skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
