What you’ll do:
- You will analyze, design, develop, administer, implement, and support mainframe members that support P3.
- You will support best practices in the design, development, and deployment of code to facilitate enhancements to databases, files, and reports.
- Work with other IT teams and accounting to ensure data output with the highest quality.
- Develop new and maintain existing applications of the highest complexity as per specifications including developing application code, testing completed applications, and develop required documentation as defined by company development standards.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and applications.
- Conduct research and maintain high level of knowledge in systems software/hardware to ensure operations and implementations are of the highest quality. Assist the business with process improvements where needed.
- Keep Application Development Manager, Project Manager, and team members informed on status of deliverables.
- Give guidance and direction, as needed, to development staff on technical matters.
- Create functional design of principle system components and formulate system scope, objectives, functional requirements and deliverables.
- Design complex technology configurations to satisfy business requirements and create, execute and maintain project plans for complex systems.
- Lead the integration of new systems and recommend new technology.
What it takes to join our team:
- College degree or equivalent plus seven years relevant experience required.
- Five years’ experience in insurance or finance data processing preferred.
- Knowledge of data handling methods, development techniques and one or more development programming languages.
- Oral and written communication skills as appropriate to this position.
- Reasonably regular and predictable attendance.
- Ability to read, write and speak the English language.
