Farm Bureau Health Plans (FBHP) is pleased to announce seven (7) internship opportunities this summer at our headquarters in Columbia, TN.

FBHP offers an extensive range of coverage options for both the under 65 and over 65 markets. Internship Summary - The FBHP Intern Program is available to rising college Juniors and Seniors. The Internship will begin on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 and will end on Friday, August 1, 2025 for a complete duration of ten (10) weeks. Interns will earn $600 per week for a total of $6,000 over the course of the summer. FBHP is happy to work with successful applicants and their university as needed to establish college credit for the completion of the program. Interns will work in one of the following program areas:
Finance: The Finance Intern should be a Finance or Accounting Major. You will have the opportunity to participate and assist in a wide range of functions relating to accounting, billing, income tax return and certain regulatory compliance activities pertaining to our industry.
Health Plan Compliance: The Health Plan Compliance Intern should be a Business Administration or Healthcare Administration Major, preferably with coursework in Auditing or Business Law. You will work with FBHP staff in the administration of the FBHP Compliance Program writing policies and procedures and gain an in-depth experience in the industry.
Health Plan Operations: The Health Plan Operations Intern should be a Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or Business Health Major. You will work with FBHP staff in the administration of the FBHP plans for an in-depth experience in the industry by assisting departments with administrative tasks while learning the Industry.
Information Technology (IT): The Information Technology (IT) intern should be enrolled in Network Administration, Cyber Security, Software Development, Data Analytics, or related major. The intern will experience:
· The Network Administration intern will gain experience with network and systems administration and IT security, providing day-to-day support and troubleshooting issues and other various activities.
· The Software Development intern will get hands-on experience with .NET and SQL Server development.
· The Data Analytics intern will get hands on experience working with data structures, data analysis and data management. The intern will use tools such as Excel, Power BI, and other querying tools.
Legal: The Legal internship will expose the student to all legal aspects of the industry from the perspective of a generalist. The intern will experience:
· Annual research and review of State and Federal law and regulations.
· Preparing Memoranda based upon related research.
· Review, revision and drafting of legal documents including contracts.
· Medicare supplement policies including Medicare Minimum standards.
· Corporate Governance.
· Occasionally commercial property transactions.
Marketing: The Marketing intern should be a Marketing or Communications Major. The successful candidate will be afforded a full-immersion internship experience in support of marketing operations. Typical assignments will comprise competitive and data analysis, industry research, social media content creation, events support, and creative development of marketing assets (to include InDesign training if needed), as well as other marketing activities to be determined.
Sales: The Sales Intern should be a Business or Marketing Major. You will be exposed to all aspects of health plan sales with a focus on data analyst. The intern will experience:
· Daily review of all call metrics and data.
· Preparing detailed spreadsheets and dashboards for management.
· Assisting with incentive compilation.
· General data analysis of day-to-day trends.
· Assist with workflow management projections and system functionality.
College Credit: We are glad to work with each university as needed to establish credit for those completing the program. Please let us know if you wish to establish this internship program as a credit course.
