Overview
DevOps Engineer Objective
To plan, build, schedule, and track changes to the source code for all systems across multiple environments, such as development, quality assurance, stage, and production. To work closely with the development, technical infrastructure and testing teams, project managers, enterprise and project architects, Data Security, and DevOps coordinator to ensure environment stability across the enterprise. To understand the nuances in an effort to work effectively with other teams.
DevOps Engineer Responsibilities
Plan, build, schedule, and track changes to the source code for systems in an ongoing manner across all solutions environments, such as development, quality assurance, stage, and production. Work with team members to establish and maintain a repeatable release process and predictable release schedules for each environment.
Work within Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure to build and deploy software releases into all solution environments. Coordinate and bridge the expertise and communications gap between development and technical infrastructure teams.
Identify an application software build file, identify the code within the build file/environment, and reproduce the build, including incorporating new modifications to the code base.
Develop and implement automated build scripts, utilizing approved compile and build tools, as the standard method of deploying build packages.
DevOps Engineer Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field required, or equivalent experience may be considered.
Applicable information technology training and certification required.
Four to six years of experience in technically related roles with a minimum two years of experience in software release management role in an enterprise class environment required.
Experience with production support for a multi-tier website in a technical role required.
Proven software configuration management process aptitude and release management engineering required.
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, succinctly and in a manner that appeals to a wide audience required.
Preferred
Insurance domain expertise and experience preferred.
Skilled in writing scripts to automate build, deployment, and testing of .NET and Java applications preferred.
