Overview
Imaging & Mailing Claims Technician Objective
To work as an active team member of the Imaging & Mailing Services (IMS) Department. To provide advanced claim mail handling and records support to the Farm Bureau Insurance companies claims staff, claimants, and claim vendors.
Imaging & Mailing Claims Technician Responsibilities
Prepare physical documents for scanning to electronic document repository or business process management (BPM) system.
Understand multiple file types to determine technology needed to import documents into the BPM system.
Import documents to electronic document repository and BPM from various sources such as web, e-mail, disk, flash drive, and through operation of a high-capacity scanner.
Use information from claim document to research in the claims administration system for correct claim number to index/upload document to the correct claim file. Research within claims administration system to understand the different exposures and index documents to correct exposure.
Imaging & Mailing Claims Technician Qualifications
Required
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
Willingness to pursue continuing job-related training and education required.
Preferred
Associate’s degree preferred.
One year of insurance-related experience required, in a claim or data processing environment preferred.
Designation in insurance-related training preferred.
