SCHEDULE: Full Time
TRAVEL REQUIRED: 0% - 25%
COMPENSATION: $108,840.00 to $215,700.00 base salary plus potential for variable compensation. Base pay is determined by your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Farm Credit Mid-America/Rural 1st may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.
About Our Opportunity
Develop, maintain, communicate, and promote a unified vision for the development of new applications by incorporating a holistic view of Farm Credit Mid-America's information systems and technologies in a way that supports the business vision for the company. Provide design leadership and mentoring to team members involved in developing applications. Provide guidance to the organization on the selection and implementation of third-party solutions as well as applications integration efforts. Stay abreast of evolving technologies and provide direction on how best to incorporate new technologies into our environment. Develop proof-of-concepts as well as implement architecture related services and technologies.
How You Will Spend Your Time
- Design system architecture to support the business strategy and enhance the customer experience.
- Design should be implemented collaboratively in a way that reflects Farm Credit Mid-America’s team environment.
- Software architecture should reflect the appropriate balance of code quality, scalability, performance, extensibility, testability, security, and standards compliance.
- Define the standard enterprise technology architecture objectives and develop the associated policies, standards, and guidelines. Serve as an application architect resource to all agile application development. Propose and champion architectural improvements and redesigns. Participate in IT infrastructure planning that supports our software architecture.
- Work closely with other teams to align on a sound data architecture and strategy and sound information security practices.
- Partner with business owners of the various systems/applications to instill a participative environment, develop and explain the requirements of the architecture and the importance of sustainable technology solutions.
- Create and maintain system architecture documentation. Work with project teams to create and revise necessary documentation as defined by the current development methodologies and standards, which includes high level design specifications and support documents. Review design documentation for projects and systems. Promote standards of development sufficient to yield highly maintainable, self-documenting systems.
- Work with agile application development team members for development architecture, coding standards and security standards compliance.
- Conduct code reviews to confirm that architecture meets business needs.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements to facilitate future development needs to provide most efficient support to end users.
Minimum Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent relevant work experience) in Technical Management, Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines. 4 years of experience in developing systems using Microsoft technologies. Previous experience in designing and developing enterprise applications for scalability, performance and availability.
