Job Summary:

**Hybrid work - Incumbent must work three days each week in the Omaha, NE office**

We are seeking a Database Developer who will review, evaluate, design, develop, implement and maintain company databases using industry leading database tools. Develop implementation documentation which may include data sources, data diagrams, and other data movement processes. Write code for database access, modifications, and constructions including stored procedures. Develop SQL queries in the creation of business applications and SQL reports from corporate data sources. Work closely with the Information Technology teammates and end-users to design and develop specifications, data dictionaries and access methods for optimum performance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Database Design, Development and Deployment - Analyze, design and implement sound database schemas. Provide expertise in creating database tables, views, indexes, constraints, stored procedures, rules and other objects to optimize performance and enforce data integrity. Design effective solutions for multi-table, multi-database, and complex processing needs. Utilize query execution plans to ensure proper design, and mentor teammates on good standards and practices. Work with teammates to optimize continuous integration and deployment practices. Provide database related leadership to project teams and mentor team members on database technologies as needed.
• Data Movement - Implement plans and procedures that automate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of data processes and analysis. This includes, but is not limited to, using scheduling tools and scripting routines to automate data loading and refreshing from internal and external sources. Design and effectively implement Extract Transform Load (ETL) style operations using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). Manage and lead SSIS integration projects and mentor team members on the proper use and development of SSIS packages and workflows. Understand impacts of moving data across the enterprise.
• SQL Reporting - Assist in developing, generating, and distributing SQL reports in support of line-of-business production systems and ad-hoc decision support needs. Mentor teammates to make them more self sufficient in meeting reporting needs.
• Testing - Work with software development project teams to develop and execute testing procedures for database enhancements and data corrections. Provide effective testing of new technology related to data management, storage, and retrieval.
• Teamwork - Fulfill the above duties and responsibilities while fully participating in the team’s agile style project processes. This includes, but is not limited to, pair programming, TDD, participation in daily standup sessions, collaboratively completing stories and tasks, being self-organizing within the team to take on any responsibility to get the stories completed. Identify and champion improvements to database related aspects of the team’s work efforts. Engage in enterprise database initiatives as needed.
• Customer Service - Take the necessary steps to ensure our employees needs are met to the maximum extent possible in an accurate and timely manner. Work with Information Technology team members to provide escalated product support as needed. Proactively identify customers needs, coordinate with the customer when and why the need should be addressed, and take care of the need as appropriate. Understand and use available database utilities to quickly isolate performance or error conditions.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or a closely related field preferred.

Years of Experience:

4 years of experience, developing complex database systems for multi-tier, web-based and mobile technologies.

Certification and Technical Requirements:

• Familiar with a variety of industry standards regarding Microsoft database development concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency with database development including the development of stored procedures, indexes, ActiveBatch jobs, SSIS packages and use of RedGate tools
• Proficiency with current and recent versions of SQL Server. Database development experience with Visual Studio a plus.
• Proficient in a Windows and Microsoft Office computing environment.
• Experience with cloud database technologies like Azure SQL or SQL Server on AWS
• Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse
• Exposure to NoSQL databases Neo4J, MongoDB, Redis
