Quality Control Specialist

Quality Control Specialist (Reports to SR Quality Control Manager)

- Responsible for maintaining quality at the packhouse level and providing assurance to FFDA team that product is being produced to customers negotiated specifications and expectations.

• Communicates with Sr Quality Control Manager and or Quality Assurance Manager to determine customer specifications and expectations.
• Maintains Communication with Sr Quality Control Manager, Packing Facility Management, and as needed FFDA personnel to assure Quality expectations are being met
• Reviews and scrutinizes customer specifications with Sr Quality Assurance Manager, Packhouse Management, and Key Packhouse staff.
• Collaborates with packhouse management to provide assurance product is produced to meet or exceed customer expectations.

· Reports Quality using quality reporting documents.

o Will be trained in evaluating and reporting quality findings to packhouse management, sales and SR Quality Control Manager.

· At harvest helps in obtaining quality data of product going into storage at harvest.

· Reports quality issues with problematic lots to SR Quality Control Manager and Quality Assurance Manager.

· Must become proficient in comprehension and interpretation of USDA Grade Standards for Grades of Potatoes as well as Shipping point instructions.

· Must be willing to accept additional job tasks as required such as but not limited to evaluating potatoes in storage, and evaluate potatoes in fields prior to harvest.

· Must be proficient in basic math calculations, such as calculating percentages and averages.

Experience

Potato Packing house experience preferred but not required.
Requirements

· Punctual and motivated with an aptitude for attention to detail.

· Must have personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

· Must be Reliable

Education

· High School graduate or Equivalent

Physical Requirements

· Ability to intermittently lift, up to 50 pounds.

· Requires standing and moving for an entire shift.

· Ability to lift, bend, kneel, climb, crawl and/or twist.

· Ability to safely climb up and down a ladder.

· Ability perform Basic math skills.

Availability

· Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends as necessary to meet the needs of the business.

· Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
