Basic Purpose
Responsible for the financial accounting and operation reporting for Plainville Farms in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board and other regulatory and advisory organizations. Provide leadership and assign responsibilities; train, monitor and improve the performance of reporting staff.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Manage operational expenses through activities of the division’s accounting functions for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports and management data to include production reporting, KPI’s, and scorecards.

3. Maintain Accurate Live Ag and Variance P& L’s
4. Manage fixed assets and capital spending processes.
5. Participate in monthly and year-end financial closing process for the Plainville Farms division as needed, including maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger. Analyze and report the current month’s financial results to management in accordance with format and time requirements.
6. Provide a standard costing system and ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported values.
7. Manage and participate in Inventory Reconciliation
8. Oversee disbursement activities not limited to ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, employee expense reports, cash control, and division payroll tax compliance.
9. Implement and enforce financial reporting and accounting procedures and schedules.
10. Establish and maintain internal controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes, and data, and enhance the company's value.
11. Participate in the budget and forecasting process, providing insight and financial reporting as required.
12. Ensure division income tax compliance and the appropriate application of tax codes.
13. Document and understand the ERP system and ensure accurate utilization by company personnel.
14. Assess risk and liability through audits and compliance activities with external auditors and agencies.
15. Maintain current professional knowledge of trends and regulations to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the accounting function.
16. Respond to the CEO as assigned with accurate and timely work to facilitate their financial needs.
17. Perform special projects and other comparable and related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage accounting staff of approx. 4-7 employees for the Plainville Farms division. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Ø Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent
Ø Minimum of 5 years’ experience with demonstrated track record of financial accounting experience, including Consumer products industry experience; food/protein industry required.
Ø Solid system knowledge Microsoft Dynamics/Navision, or other ERP systems
Ø Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to articulate and relate to people at all levels of the organization.
Ø Strong technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
Ø Ability to manage and develop staff.
Ø A well organized and self-directed individual who is able successfully manage and execute multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ø Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

Pay: $114,111.00 - $119,746.00 per year
