Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Assistant Caregiver, Environment. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a safe and healthy environment for our residents, including assisting with optimal wellbeing through barn cleaning, grounds keeping, and farm maintenance projects.
Main Responsibilities
- Animal Enclosure Cleaning and Bedding: Provide clean and comfortable living spaces for our animal residents.
- Day-to-Day Maintenance and Enrichment Projects: Participate in various tasks to ensure the well-being and enrichment of our animals.
- Large Maintenance Projects: Support tasks such as painting and fence maintenance to maintain the overall integrity of our facilities.
- Transportation: Occasionally transport animal residents for hospital trips or rescues.
- Volunteer Support: Interact with and support individual environment volunteers and monthly volunteer work party experiences.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Physical Ability: Prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout facilities; must be able to bend, lift, push, stoop, stretch, climb, and crawl.
- Weather Conditions: Regularly perform work in a variety of weather conditions, including high heat environments.
- Teamwork and Communication: Demonstrate a willingness to help others and work effectively with multiple people at once.
- Flexibility and Positive Attitude: Flexible with positive attitude, willing to pitch in where needed and as assigned.
- Farm Experience: Previous farm or work experience at an animal-care facility; farm animal handling experience and skills (large and/or small animal).
- Certifications and Skills: Farm equipment knowledge & ability to drive tractors and trailers (CDL a plus).
