What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver/Warehouse Worker position at Farm Supply Co.?
Opening for a friendly, personable person to make deliveries, load customers, stock inventory and to drive our inter-store transfers. Must be 18 years old and have a CLEAN driving record. Experience securing loads on a truck and trailer is important. Operating a forklift is a must.
JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for intercompany transfer and customer deliveries. This position is responsible for daily inspections, cleaning, and scheduling of routine maintenance for the truck.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Branch Manager
DUTIES:
1. Responsible for daily deliveries and intercompany transfers.
a) Responsible for accuracy of paperwork for all deliveries and transfers.
b) Responsible for communication with customers and managers regarding all deliveries and transfers.
c) Load and unload own truck in conjunction with yard personnel.
2. Responsible for designated truck.
a) Daily vehicle inspections.
b) Schedule routine maintenance and repairs.
c) Keep truck clean.
3. Other Job Requirements:
a) Assist in yard and warehouse duties as needed.
b) Loading customers, stocking inventory and organizing warehouse while not driving.
c) Work cheerfully and closely with other employees to get the job done speedily and accurately.
RELATIONSHIPS: Work closely with shipping/receiving and yard persons in all locations. Must have a helpful cooperative attitude with all employees.
EQUIPMENT: Drive truck and trailer, forklifts, pallet jacks and hand trucks.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to drive a 6-speed manual transmission. Must maintain a valid driver’s license. Must be able to operate a forklift. Ability to tie down obscure loads. Be aware of weight limits. Be able to write legibly. Climb onto the back of the truck and be able to lift 100#.
