Position Summary:
Under direct supervision, the Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring all orders are ship confirmed in JDE and prepares documents for shipment. Responsible for verifying all route and branch orders are pulled accurately, and assists with the fulfillment of branch or route orders. Ensures that goods are verified against records of shipment.
Inspects the quality of goods received. Helps maintain and/or reports instances of damaged or defective items and discrepancies in quantities and weights, and records time, date, quantity, source, and destination of materials received. Maintains shipping and receiving documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Properly document and prepare product and information ensuring accuracy and timely shipment.
- Expedite and promptly resolve order discrepancies, shipment delays, missing documentation, shipment instruction and/or any unresolved shipment issues.
- Maintain all shipments, comply with company procedures and work instructions; assembling, packing, addressing, stamping, documentation, carrier routing/
- scheduling, tracking, customer authorizations.
- Expedite tracking and shipping inquiries and provide feedback in a timely manner.
- Recommend new strategies for more efficient and/or cost effective processes within department.
- Responsible for updating Torrance Metrics and cases pulled per hour report.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 years of warehouse experience.
- JDE Proficient preferred.
- At least one year Computer experience with Microsoft Office and the Internet.
- Previous experience using RF Gun (DSI system preferred).
- Good analytical, follow through and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple, concurrent tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Desire to support other team members and contribute to the team.
- Willing to fully supports and stand behind team decisions.
- Able to addresses issues or problems as soon as they arise.
- Establishes high standards of performance for self and others.
