About this Role: The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for oversight of sanitation activities that include: Porters, Dishwashing, & removal of trash from production floor activities. This position will directly report to the Production Manager and support day-to-day operations.
As the Sanitation Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for developing and supervising the Sanitation program, and for ensuring that all current food safety standards are being upheld throughout the facility. The Sanitation Supervisor plans and assigns the shift’s work, enforces policies and procedures, and recommends improvements in sanitation methods, equipmen,t and working conditions. You will ensure that all required documentation, including pre-operational checks, is completed according to Good Documentation Practices (GDP). This role leads all critical communications and issue escalations with site leadership.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and direct the sanitation crew, including working directly in the sanitation operations
- Coach and train sanitation employees on daily duties, GMP, and PPE requirements
- Creating and updating documentation, including SSOPs and the Master Sanitation schedule, as it pertains to Porters, & Dishwashers
- Support special cleaning projects (ie. HVAC master sanitation, drain backups, etc.)
- Performance management of direct reports
- Participation in meetings with service providers and/or management
Who You Are:
- A minimum of 3 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment required
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and understanding of clean design requirements, cleaning and sanitizing principles, and microbiological contamination risk
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Relentless drive to continuously improve cleaning and sanitization procedures, and the execution of those procedures, to reduce the risk of microbiological contamination
- Solid organizational skills
- Capable of teaching, training, and sharing technical knowledge with employees within the operation
- Working computer knowledge specifically in documents, spreadsheets, and slide decks
- Must be knowledgeable in HACCP, allergens, and preventive controls
- Must be able to work any assigned shift including weekend and overtime work as required
- Ability to think ahead and prepare action plans to get results
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
