Description

SUMMARY

Responsible for investigating, assessing, and resolving insurance claims under the direction of a Regional Claims Manager.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate, evaluate and settle auto and liability insurance claims.
  • Determine applicable coverage for a loss and issue timely and proper payments.
  • Determine liability, evaluate first and third-party injury claims, as well as negotiate settlements.
  • Communicate with first- and third-party claimants, body shops, employers, doctors and attorneys to obtain all necessary information to resolve the claim.
  • Perform special projects as assigned.
  • Must exercise diligent use of diary.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Must be coachable and learn from constructive criticism.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to consider complex claim information.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills required.
  • Excellent computer skills required.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, company manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write professional business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

EDUCATION &/OR EXPERIENCE

  • College Bachelors degree preferred; equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Oklahoma Adjuster License desired or to be obtained within one year of hire date.
  • Continued learning through additional courses may be required by the Manager.
