Summary
The SIU Manager oversees the identification, investigation, and resolution of suspicious claims.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage SIU activities, including hiring, training, and evaluation of staff performance as necessary
- Coordinate and oversee the investigation of potentially fraudulent claims to ensure thorough and timely resolution
- Ensure all investigations are compliant with applicable company policies, state insurance regulations, and federal laws
- Work closely with claims adjusters, underwriters, and legal counsel to identify and mitigate fraud
- Document investigation findings, make recommendations for further actions, and report to outside agencies as required.
- Coordinate training through FAMI Training and Development team on fraud detection and mitigation strategies
- Manage the SIU budget effectively, optimizing resource allocation to maximize efficiency
- Become member of IASIU (International Association of Special Investigation Units) and attend annual conference
- Consistently support company, departmental, and managerial decisions through positive interpretation, application, and communication of company information and policies to fellow employees, agents, and customers.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of insurance claims investigation experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Adjuster license
- Claims, Fraud, or other relevant certifications preferred
- Complete fraud courses from The Institutes and American Educational Institute
- Attend NICB’s virtual Fraud Investigation Academy
