What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Insurance Claims Field Adjuster position at FARMERS AND MECHANICS MUTUAL INSURANCE COMPANY?
A remote/home-based position within the Southeastern West Virginia area, our Property Claims Field Adjuster will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve assigned claims in accordance with company standards and procedures as well as state regulatory requirements. Strong (verbal and written) communication and analytical skills are a necessity. Depending upon the specific nature of the claim, proper handling may include coverage analysis, litigation management, attendance at mediations or trials and the coordination of the services of independent adjusters (or other outside vendors) unique to the needs of the claim. This specific Claim Adjuster role involves field inspections in the Southeastern West Virginia area and job requirements also include, but are not limited to, the ability to safely access all areas of an impacted structure to determine the nature and extent of damages, and the subsequent utilization of approved estimating software to generate an estimate of repair cost. The role may include other duties as assigned. This is NOT an entry level position, and Property claims adjusting experience is required. You must have a home office available for your use and be able to drive to insured properties within an assigned geographic area to conduct Claims activities as described above. Company car will be provided. Pay based on experience and skill set.
