Farmers Building Supply is a trusted, locally owned home center hardware store serving southern Oregon, and surrounding communities for over 60 years. We are looking for a dedicated Cashier to join our team! In this role, you will be part of a supportive, dynamic team focused on providing exceptional customer service and achieving sales goals.

Job Responsibilities:

• Customer Interaction: Proactively Greet customers warmly, assist with inquiries, and provide information about products and promotions.
• Transaction Handling: Operate cash registers, process cash payments and provide correct change, process credit and debit transactions, and ensure accurate scanning and bagging of items.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and team members to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Returns and Exchanges: Handle returns and exchanges in accordance with store policies.
• Checkout Maintenance: Keep the checkout areas clean, organized, and balance the cash register at the end of each shift.
• Team Collaboration: Work with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient checkout process.

• Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in transactions and cash handling.

Requirements:

· Familiarity at using a Point-of-Sale system with a scanner.

· Comfortable providing and counting change back to customers.

Job Type – PT (approx. 20-25 hours/week)

Compensation: $15.50/hr. to start
