Job Summary

  • The Flood Claims and Marketing Manager is responsible for all aspects of the flood claims and marketing operation.
  • This includes claims catastrophe management; the selection, management and evaluation of claims vendors and their performance; assisting agents and customers with claims related issues and the identification of new technologies and business processes to improve claim operations.
  • They will also develop marketing projects and sales promotion programs and materials.

Essential Job Functions

  • Participates as a team member to develop marketing projects and sales promotion programs to achieve assigned growth, retention and product density objectives.
  • Responsible for developing action plans and deadlines, tracking project status, testing, and evaluating Return On Investment (ROI).
  • Leads efforts and executes on development of training and educational materials.
  • Responsible for the identification, selection, retention, and management of independent adjusting firms. Identifies new technologies and business processes to improve claim operations. Plans, develops, and recommends claims procedures, techniques, and methods; studies, analyzes, and interprets claims results and trends.
  • Evaluates vendor performance by the review of management information reports and periodic visits to claims vendors and field inspections with adjusters and makes recommendations to improve service and results. Responsible for acting as a liaison across Distribution, Claims and the business line during catastrophe events by cultivating relationships and providing pertinent catastrophe communications.
  • Acts as a project lead on one or more moderately complex to complex projects or leads one or more of a particular aspect of complex projects. Is the primary contact of all project-related concerns.
  • Develops project/program design and scope; determines project milestones and completion dates. Develops project plans, schedules and measures project success.
  • Responsible for working with the marketing and training functions to develop training and education material.

Physical Actions

Job is performed in-person at a Farmers office or virtually at an approved alternative work location. The physical work environment is indoors and climate-controlled with adequate lighting and ventilation. Normal and customary distractions include background noise produced by office equipment and chatter among people, as well as interruptions. Frequently sits for prolonged periods of time, up to a full shift. Occasionally moves about the workplace including, navigating stairs, ramps, and level or uneven surfaces. Occasionally moves, pushes, pulls, lifts, carries, and/or places objects or materials weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Frequently uses shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers to manipulate equipment, tools, and objects necessary to perform job duties. Frequently performs fine motor tasks such as typing, mousing, or writing, up to a full shift. Rarely performs movements such as bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, twisting, and reaching overhead or below the knees. Possesses clear vision, with or without correction, to visually read and verify information. Relies on depth perception and peripheral vision to navigate the work environment visually by identifying barriers, changes in terrain and locating objects. Possesses adequate hearing, with or without correction, to communicate with co-workers, respond promptly to auditory signals or alarms, and discern sounds essential for maintaining safety and productivity in the workplace. Jobs in this category require rare, if any, travel.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor Degree preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Three years prior experience working in property claims.
  • Four years prior experience in a Marketing, Sales or related field. prior experience working in a project management capacity.
