Job Summary
Site Reliability Services team at Farmers is an innovative platform services team dedicated to provide automation and administration support for IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms. Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for maintaining reliable, scalable, and high-performance systems and services. SRE team implements and maintains technologies that improve the scalability and reliability of platform infrastructure. In this role, the Sr. Site Reliability Engineer will manage and maintain Redhat OpenShift, Azure AKS, AWS EKS clusters, support audit and compliance, perform backup and restores. A successful candidate must have hands on experience and able to provide on-call support.
This role is a Hybrid opportunity, where you will be onsite 3 times a week. This role is posted to the below Farmers Office Locations:
This role, whether performed virtually or in an office setting, will include normal and customary distractions, noise, and interruptions. Sits or stands for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Occasionally reaches overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Occasionally moves, lifts, carries, and places objects and supplies weighing 0-10 pounds without assistance. Listens to, interprets, and differentiates auditory information (example others speaking) at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Visually verifies and reads information. Visually locates material, resources and other objects. Ability to continuously operate a computer for extended periods of time, up to a full work shift. Physical dexterity sufficient to use hands, arms, and shoulders repetitively to operate keyboard and other office equipment up to a full work shift.

- Automate the provisioning of Red Hat Openshift clusters.
- Build and Manage AWS ROSA ( Redhat OpenShift on AWS ), Azure AKS and AWS EKS clusters.
- Manage and support OpenShift clusters for the enterprise and dedicated clusters.
- Incorporate Cloud Native Computing Foundation standards for deployed services.
- Configure Scaling, High Availability and Disaster Recovery for all production platforms.
- Leverage ArgoCD to automatically synchronizes the cluster state.
- Maintain and manage registries and ensure security and versioning of container images.
- Work with Observability team and build dashboards on Dynatrace APM monitoring tool.
- Work as a liaison between Architects, Network, Security and Cloud Engineering Teams.
- Maintain internal security and audit protocols for OpenShift,Azure AKS, AWS EKS clusters.
- Support vulnerability management by scanning, automating and remediating vulnerabilities.
- Perform backup and restores using Rubrik.
- Support and maintain PCI,SOX, SOC 2, NACHA compliance.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and escalate issues as needed.
- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
- Quickly adapt new automation technologies and implement the same.
- 5-7 years of related experience required.
- 5-7 experience managing Redhat OpenShift, Azure AKS, AWS EKS clusters across AWS and Azure, preferred.
- Experience with Redhat suite of tools. Ansible automation experience, preferred.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Shell Scripting, preferred.
- Solid experience in Ingres, Route, TLS/SSL and RBAC, preferred.
- Good understanding and experience of IaC tools like Terraform or Crossplane, preferred.
- Strong knowledge and implementation experience of Istio service mesh, preferred.
- Hands on experience of ArgoCD, preferred.
- Prioritize vulnerability management based on risk and develop strategic plans for mitigation, preferred.
- Strong experience with AWS or Azure cloud services, preferred. Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, EBS, ECS ), Azure Services (VMs, Blob, Managed Database instances), preferred.
