Product Owner

As a Product Owner in the West Des Moines office for FMH, you will serve as the business product team lead who executes on the product vision and provides direction to the Agile development team and stakeholders. The qualified candidate will be responsible for providing business analysis, project management knowledge and best practices for all technology changes that enable America’s farmers to clothe, feed, and fuel the world. this is NOT A REMOTE POSITION.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience: At least 1-5 or more years related work experience. Knowledge of Agile processes and methodologies preferred.
- Education: Associates degree in IT, Business, or related field required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills. Knowledge of Agile processes and methodologies. Good organizational, time management, and customer service skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel). Must be able to work with people at all levels of the organization, including outside consultants and vendors, and influence others without formal authority (informal leadership). Experience with project management software highly desirable.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively communicates between the Agile/Project teams and key stakeholders by building and maintaining strong relationships across the organization.
- Partners with Agile Portfolio Management to lead the discovery process on projects which includes process mapping, story mapping, and relative sizing. Manages release plan updating after each sprint.
- Creates or refines stories by incorporating feedback from the business and develops requirements to ensure we are meeting the needs.
- Manages and prioritizes the backlog to achieve customer and business goals while maximizing the value delivered by the team.
- Leads and/or participates in day-to-day Agile Scrum team meetings including Daily Stand-Ups, Sprint Reviews (demo completed work), Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospectives, and Backlog Refinement Sessions.
