Position Summary: The Universal Banker is a retail branch position focused on using the consultative advising process to proactively identify and meet the financial needs of customers or prospects. This role is focused on the customer experience and will help the customer with all aspects of their banking. The Universal Banker maintains focus on acquiring new accounts and/or deepening existing customer relationships through a variety of activities, including but not limited to lobby management. This role is responsible for processing teller transactions as well as working as a member of the office staff.
Essential Functions:
- Consistently meet or exceed monthly/quarterly goals, as set by management.
- Maintain a well-developed working knowledge of the complete line of Retail products and services offered, taking responsibility to keep up to date and request assistance for further development needs.
- Use the consultative advising process to build a thorough customer profile and identify short and long term financial needs with an emphasis on deepening and retaining customer relationships.
- Utilize approved tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for periodic financial reviews.
- Establish close working relationships with assigned Partners (lenders and investment), referring customers when appropriate to provide timely and holistic financial solutions.
- Work with the branch team to consistently meet/exceed customer experience goals by executing on the key behaviors with every customer.
- Meet with the Manager to ensure daily activities align with the objectives of the branch.
- Actively participate in morning focus meetings and staff meetings.
- Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.
- Act with confidence by answering customer questions and owning customer issues.
- Respond to all customer inquiries and service issues in a timely manner; generally within 24 hours.
- Maintain a position of trust and responsibility by keeping all business confidential.
- Follow Farmers National Bank Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, maintaining ethical behavior at all times.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures while opening/servicing the full range of Retail products.
- Facilitate opening and/or closing procedures as a member of the platform staff as necessary.
- Work with the branch to maintain efficient branch operations.
- Review all account documentation to ensure proper signatures and identifying information is accurate and complete.
- Ensure account documentation is imaged in a timely manner.
- Process teller transactions and maintain a personal balancing record that is in line with policy.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Performs other work related duties as assigned.
2. Performs job duties in accordance with all appropriate laws and regulations to include BSA.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- College degree or sales and service experience providing transferrable skills, or, combination of education and experience.
- Experience in the financial industry and with cash handling preferred but not mandatory.
- Several years of experience as a Teller/CSR in a financial institution or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with both new account acquisition and/or the ability to cross-sell to established customers.
- Must be able to demonstrate understanding of advanced math functions that will allow for analysis of credit and financial information.

Ability to professionally represent Farmers National Bank in terms of appearance and verbal/written communication.
Demonstrated ability to develop a working knowledge of Retail policies and procedures in order to utilize good judgment in making sound decisions. - Classes covering general banking, deposit documentation, compliance, and some supervisory training preferred.
