Northland Choice operates out of three locations including Waite Park, Long Prairie, and Redwood Falls, MN. Our Waite Park, MN facility is currently seeking to add a team member to our 3rd shift crew! This opportunity provides the chance to work with a small, close-knit team and make in impact with a variety of responsibilities. Operate Equipment Sanitation Compliance & Quality
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work safely and comply with company and regulatory safety/environmental policies, practices and procedures
Process incoming pet food raw material in safe and efficient manner to produce quality finished products
Continuously inspect raw and finished materials to ensure quality is meeting set standards
Operate equipment including processing equipment, skid steers, forklifts, overhead cranes, and meat grinders
Transport trailers throughout the facility with the yard truck
Assist in loading and unloading raw material and pallets
Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, tools, totes, and combos to maintain proper housekeeping throughout the shift
Perform minor preventative maintenance duties and monitor equipment for necessary repairs
Learn and follow all standard operating procedures for processing, sanitation, safety, and quality
Report mechanical, material, or other issues/repairs necessary to direct leadership
Accurately record data and complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner; determine and report inconsistencies
Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.
Qualifications
High school diploma
Previous production or manufacturing experience, preferred
Ability to become forklift certified
Ability to read and write and perform basic mathematical skills
Ability to lift 75 pounds on a routine basis
Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 175 pounds
Ability to stand/walk/twist/bend/kneel/squat, as necessary
Ability to handle hot and cold conditions (must dress according to weather) and be aware of any wet floors or other hazards
