We are currently seeking to add day and night shift Quality Assurance Technicians to our team in Mitchell, SD! We offer a starting base wage of $19.25/Hr. plus a $1/Hr. shift differential, scheduled increases, and weekly bonuses! Food Safety Compliance Continuous Improvement
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Work safely and comply with company and regulatory safety/environmental policies, practices and procedures
Maintain highest level of confidentiality, customer service and professionalism to promote a positive image of the Company
Complete routine food safety & quality systems inspections, identify deficiencies, and follow up with corrective actions
Communicate effectively with plant personnel and supervisors and update supervisors on any non-conforming materials/equipment
Follow all procedures regarding all potential QA or Food Safety holds
Understand and implement company procedures pertaining to Operational Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures
Perform pre-operational sanitation inspections of the facility prior to start-up
Perform various sample collections related to bacterial testing, interpret test results, and compare to company specifications
Assist in training of plant personnel and developing company procedures related to food safety & quality
Complete daily paperwork and maintain accurate and organized records
Situations may arise that require employees to temporarily or permanently assume responsibility for tasks not specifically outlined in this job description. Employees may be requested to work additional hours and/or accommodate a heavier than normal workload.
Qualifications
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); degree in biology, microbiology, or other related field, preferred
Working knowledge of general manufacturing and laboratory practices, HACCP, ISO, and regulatory guidelines
Advanced written and verbal communication skills with a high level of professionalism
High level of proficiency, accuracy, discretion and confidentiality
Strong sense of initiative and independent problem-solving/root cause analysis
Ability to manage time and deadlines with little supervision
Ability to handle hot and cold conditions (dress according to temperature); different scents; and be aware of any wet floors or other hazards
Ability to stand; walk; move about the facility; occasionally lift, push/pull up to 40 pounds
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Basic mathematical skills
Ability to perform safety-sensitive position
Salary : $19 - $20
