Noon Duty Aide- Snowden Elementary

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under supervision of site administrator, assist in supervising student activities and monitoring student activities and monitoring student behavior. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: ~Patrols yard during recess to assure a safe work environment ~Supervises playground activities ~Assists in supervising appropriate noon-time games ~Works with students to encourage total participation in some activity ~Maintains proper utilization of playground equipment ~Performs other duties as directed QUALIFICATIONS: ~Knowledge of CPR/First Aid ~Basic concepts of child development and typical child behavior characteristics ~Appropriate human relations and student needs ~Knowledge of common skills and rules of playground/league rules ~Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, site for brief periods of time ~Ability to clearly write to complete required forms and reports ~Ability to withstand prolonged exposure to outside temperatures and conditions ~Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions ~Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and adults EXPERIENCE: ~Working with school age children in organizations such as scouts, church, YMCA, PTA, etc. BOARD APPROVED: January 10, 1995
