Position Overview:
The Director of Rooms is responsible for overseeing all aspects within the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experience through high standards of service, operational efficiency, and effective management of Housekeeping & Guest Services teams. This role is pivotal in maintaining the property’s luxury status, delivering personalized service, and maximizing profitability while maintaining operational excellence.
This role will support both Hotel Les Mars & Farmhouse Inn. Traveling between two properties will be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
Experience:
The Director of Rooms will be expected to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel.
- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of department heads and associates. Provide guidance, training, and career development opportunities.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and other executive team members to set and achieve the hotel’s strategic objectives.
- Ensure the highest levels of guest satisfaction are consistently met or exceeded, with a focus on personalized service for luxury clientele.
- Respond promptly and effectively to guest feedback, ensuring all guest concerns are addressed and resolved in a timely and professional manner.
- Foster a culture of hospitality that aligns with the hotel’s brand and reputation for excellence.
- Monitor and maintain efficient room operations, ensuring that rooms are cleaned and maintained to luxury standards.
- Oversee inventory management, including room supplies and amenities, ensuring proper stock levels and ordering procedures.
- Implement and monitor room rate strategies, room occupancy, and revenue targets in collaboration with the Revenue Manager and Sales team.
- Manage departmental budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources while meeting financial targets and objectives.
- Monitor and control labor costs, operating expenses, and the overall profitability of the Rooms Division.
- Develop and implement cost-control initiatives without compromising guest service or quality.
- Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of all Rooms Division staff, ensuring they adhere to service standards and operational procedures.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, respect, and open communication.
- Conduct regular performance reviews for all department heads and direct reports, providing feedback, recognition, and opportunities for improvement.
- Work closely with other departments, including Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage, Engineering, and Security, to ensure seamless guest experiences and operational efficiency.
- Attend and actively participate in departmental and management meetings, contributing insights and recommendations to improve operations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and legal regulations related to hotel operations, including OSHA, fire safety, and environmental protocols.
- Maintain awareness of and implement luxury hotel standards, procedures, and policies for quality and safety.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in luxury hotel operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within the Rooms Division.
- Proven experience in managing and developing teams, as well as driving guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Solid financial acumen, including budget management and cost control.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- In-depth knowledge of hotel management software and systems (e.g., Opera, RMS).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Knowledge of luxury hospitality standards and best practices.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
