What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Entry and Invoicing Specialist position at Farmingdale Meat Market, Inc?
Main Street Wholesale Meats, family owned and operated since 1946, is looking for an Order Entry and Invoicing Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for entering data into our order entry and invoicing system, FoodConnex, with accuracy and efficiency to ensure correct billing procedures resulting in customer satisfaction.
The hours for this position are generally 5:00 am – 12:00 pm Monday through Friday with some flexibility.
General Responsibilities
- Enter customer orders into the order entry system and convert orders into invoices for proper billing accurately and efficiently.
- Answer incoming calls regarding orders, product offerings, pricing, and availability.
- Enter product costs into the order entry system and distribute them to the outside sales team.
- Print and distribute route sheets to drivers.
- Ring up retail customers on the register as needed.
- Administrative office support as needed.
- Develop and sustain meaningful relationships with customers to encourage trust and loyalty.
- Maintain knowledge of wholesale product offerings including cuts of beef, pork, veal, lamb, poultry, provisions, and game.

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree highly preferred.
- At least 2 years of data entry experience required, preferably within the wholesale food industry.
- Excellent mathematics, computer, and data entry skills; accuracy, efficiency and rapidity are a must.
- Reliable and punctual attendance required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
- An understanding and love of food/meat.
- Knowledge of wholesale cuts of beef, pork, veal, lamb, poultry, provisions, and game
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
