Job Summary
As a Stock Associate for Farmingdale Meat Market/Main Street Wholesale Meats, you will be responsible for receiving deliveries, inspecting them for accuracy and quality, and properly storing and rotating product in the warehouse.
Ideal candidates must be safety and quality orientated and demonstrate adaptability and a willingness to work in a team-orientated work environment. This position requires individuals to perform work in a repetitive and fast-paced environment to complete various processes including: bending, lifting, pulling, packing, unpacking, labeling, and boxing of meat products.
The start time for this position is generally 3:00 am. Due to the work schedule (we are a 7 day/week operation!), workdays may fluctuate on a week-to-week basis that is dependent on production.
Responsibilities
- Receive and unpack daily deliveries from loading dock and organize in designated areas
- Store items in an orderly and accessible manner
- Examine and inspect stock items for expiring dates or damaged packing conditions; rotate product as needed
- Receive and count stock items, and record data manually for weekly inventory
- Mark stock items using an internal identification system
- Ensure all proof of delivery is signed and dated and left for Accounting department
- Understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Ability to come in contact with wet and/or humid conditions in a warm or cool environment, as well as slippery surfaces at varied heights
- Ability to safely work near moving mechanical parts in a fast-paced environment
- Stand for long periods of time, use stairs, and wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas of the facility
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
● A minimum of a high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; previous food/beverage experience preferred
● Ability to lift heavy objects
● Basic math skills
● Positive attitude
● Ability to understand and follow instructions
● Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
● Self-motivated and driven to increase knowledge of product
Skills
● Knowledge of operating a forklift and pallet jack
● Understanding of product dating and inventory control is highly preferred
● Food/beverage experience a plus
● Bilingual a plus
