The Business Management department at Farmingdale State College invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Finance at the Assistant Professor level. Excellent communications and collaboration skills are required. Candidates should be able to teach courses in Corporate Finance and Financial Markets and Institutions. The selected candidate may be expected to teach day and evening classes. The college also offers courses at an off-campus extended site in Eastern LI, and individuals hired into this position may be scheduled to teach courses at this location.
All faculty members at Farmingdale State College have three workload components: teaching (12 contact hours per semester), research and scholarly activity, and service. The successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and high level of competence in teaching. Candidates should have a research agenda that complements their area of academic specialty resulting in peer-reviewed publications and presentation, both of which are necessary for promotion and tenure at Farmingdale State College. The service component of the workload includes student advisement as well as active participation on departmental, school and college-wide committees. The faculty member may be expected to teach in multiple formats including hybrid, online and traditional face-to-face classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ph.D. degree in Finance or a closely related field (e.g., Business, Economics), from an accredited university with the ability to be classified as a Scholarly Academic under the department's faculty qualifications guidelines. ABD with a dissertation defense scheduled prior to August 31, 2025, will be considered.
- College teaching experience.
- Expertise and ability to teach electives in Finance in one or more of the following areas: Investments, Risk Management and Insurance, Global Finance, Financial Statement Analysis, and Artificial Intelligence.
This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.
- For the first 10 working days, beginning Friday, December 6, 2024, and ending Thursday, December 19, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
- CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Open Until Filled with review of applications to begin on January 15, 2025.
- SALARY: $90,000 $4,000 in downstate location pay = $94,000 Total Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
- ANTICIPATED START DATE: Fall semester 2025
