Farmingdale State College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology (Tenure-Track). The standard teaching load is four courses per semester. Other responsibilities include advising and mentoring students in our Applied Psychology B.S. program as well as developing and supervising internships and senior projects. Applicants should be involved in a program of research and be prepared to commence a research program suitable for undergraduate involvement. Excellent teaching, participation in campus governance, and development of scholarly activity leading to publication and/or grant funding are necessary for reappointment and tenure. The successful candidate will possess a PhD in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field and will be able to teach courses in Abnormal Psychology, Individual and Group Counseling, Psychological Measurement & Assessment, Multicultural Psychology and/or Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis.
At Farmingdale State College, all faculty members are expected to fulfill three primary workload components: teaching, scholarship, and service. Successful candidates should exhibit a strong interest and high level of competence in teaching, with the expectation that they will deliver courses in hybrid, online, and traditional face-to-face formats. Additionally, candidates should have a well-defined research agenda that aligns with their academic specialization, resulting in peer-reviewed publications and presentations. Both of these achievements are vital for promotion and tenure at Farmingdale State College. The service component of the workload involves student advisement and active participation in departmental, school, and college-wide committees. We are looking for candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing to the overall educational and academic community at Farmingdale State College.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- PhD in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, School Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a closely related field.
- Ability to teach courses in Abnormal Psychology.
- Ability to teach courses in Individual and Group Counseling, Psychological Measurement & Assessment, Multicultural Psychology and/or Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis.
- BCBA certification.
- At least one year of college teaching experience.
- Experience mentoring undergraduate research projects.
- Experience advising undergraduate students.
- A demonstrated record of scholarship and a research program suitable for undergraduate involvement.
This is a 10-month UUP faculty position.
- For the first 10 working days, beginning Tuesday, March 25, 2025, and ending Monday, April 7, 2025, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

- SALARY: $75,000 $4,000 in downstate location pay = $79,000 Total Compensation.
