Farmingdale State College is seeking a Director of Interinstitutional Partnerships to oversee our newly established academic partnership with Nassau Community College and Suffolk Community College. These partnerships were developed to offer the upper division of some academic programs on-site at the community colleges. The Director of Interinstitutional Partnerships will work to oversee the partnership agreements, including the operational success of the academic program offerings, marketing and promotion, and recruitment. In addition, the Director of Interinstitutional Partnerships will be responsible for promoting the development of additional program offerings at new and existing locations.

The Director of Interinstitutional Partnerships will report into the Provost's Office and work collaboratively with the academic departments offering the degree programs, the Office of Admissions, the Office of Marketing and Communication as well as the offices and entities identified by the community colleges that are integral to the success of the partnership. The position would require a working presence on set days at both of the extended site campuses.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement plans to market Farmingdale State College's baccalaureate programs at partner sites and other institutions, including classroom visitations, information booths, off site activities, and digital communication.
  • In conjunction with the Office of Marketing and Communications and the partner institutions, develop and distribute recruitment pieces including brochures, posters, flyers, and table displays.
  • Provide partnership institutions with enrollment data including target enrollments numbers, number of applicants, number of students admitted/enrolled, and retention information each semester.
  • Act as a liaison between Farmingdale State College and its staff and off campus sites and other institutions.
  • Assure implementation of interinstitutional agreements.
  • Develop, and implement new articulation agreements with community colleges while maintaining documentation of all agreements.
  • Document and purchase equipment and supplies for each partnership site.
  • Identify opportunities for program growth and development.
  • Work closely with Student Financial Services, the Office of Enrollment and the Registrar to coordinate enrollment functions to assure complete, quality service to newly admitted and returning students.
  • Ensure that students have access to all of Farmingdale State Colleges resources in support of student success including tutoring, library services, mental health counseling, advisement etc.
  • Working with FSC staff create and maintain the partnership program web pages and social media communications.
  • Organize periodic interinstitutional meetings at each partnership site each semester.
  • Work with Farmingdale and partner colleges to ensure transfer / academic advisors are providing accurate information.
  • Conduct an annual assessment of partnerships goals for the purpose of continual improvement.

This title is in Appendix A of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees and, as a consequence, incumbents serving in this title are not eligible for permanent appointment (tenure), but instead receive renewable term appointments.

The successful candidate will possess good interpersonal, management, and conflict resolution skills, have success working with a team to achieve established goals, and will have a working knowledge of higher education.

Job Requirements:


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree or candidates with a Bachelor's degree and related work experience will be considered.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with academic advisement in higher education.
  • Student recruitment and advisement experience.

Additional Information:


This is a full-time UUP position.

  • For the first 10 working days, beginning Monday, March 25, 2024, and ending Friday, April 5, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.
  • CLOSING DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS: Tuesday, April 23, 2024
  • SALARY: $90,000 $3,087 in downstate location pay = $93,087 Total Compensation. Salary may increase commensurate with experience.
