What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garden Design Assistant position at Farmington Gardens Retail Nursery?
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with customer service skills to work in the Design & Installation department at Farmington Gardens. As a Garden Design Assistant, your primary role will be to support our designer, carrying out administrative tasks and collecting plant orders.
Duties include:
· Providing support to designer and installers, helping with scheduling and managing customer expectations
· Helping to prepare paperwork for design/installation jobs; Submitting 811 locates and preparing contracts
· Helping customers requesting replacement plant materials from previous installs
· Scheduling garden consultations and installations
· Preparing plant and installation quotes in our POS system
· Pulling plant orders and calling customers for payment
· Co-ordinating with customer service and receiving to locate plant material
· Co-ordinating with plant buyers and wholesale locations to order plants for design and installation jobs
· Helping with other jobs in the nursery as needed
Skills Needed:
· Good PNW plant knowledge required. Nursery or landscaping experience, or horticultural education necessary
· Good customer service skills and proficient writing and communication skills
· The ability to learn our POS system and use a variety of computer software
· The ability to work in a fast-paced environment-keeping calm under pressure
· A passion to work with plants and people and as part of a team
· A willingness to always be learning and improving your skills and knowledge
