General Description
The Literacy Interventionist must have current and extensive training in diagnosing and addressing learning needs. In close collaboration with instructional specialists, the Interventionist accelerates learning for students not yet meeting standards using research-based, highly effective and responsive instruction. The Interventionist also communicates regularly with classroom teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure that emerging skills and strategies are evident in grade level content, promoting accelerated progress. Using assessment and observation data, the Interventionist monitors and evaluates student progress, responding to the individual academic needs of diverse learners to ensure high levels of achievement. Prioritizing an asset-minded approach, the Interventionist develops trusting relationships with students as the basis for high expectations.
Qualifications
Teacher salaries are set by contract, established through negotiations between the Board of Education and the Farmington Educator Association
Supervisory Responsibilities
Teachers oversee and direct the work of paraprofessionals, tutors, and volunteers working in their classrooms

Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible for CT State Teaching Certification in Elementary 1-6 (102 preferred)
