Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in sourcing and ordering products and supplies, while also handling a range of essential office duties to ensure that our retail store operates efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
- Order materials and products necessary for yard inventory and customer orders.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor and update product pricing by tracking supplier price changes and market trends to ensure retail prices remain competitive.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage stock to ensure optimal supply without overstocking.
- Collaborate with vendors and store personnel to forecast demand and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Manage logistics for incoming products, ensuring timely delivery to meet store and customer needs.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing updates, and supplier performance metrics.
- Conduct regular evaluations of supplier performance and implement improvements as needed.
- Complete end-of-day paperwork and review previous day’s sales to ensure accuracy and identify any issues or trends.
Requirements
- Proven experience in purchasing role, preferably within a retail environment.
- Strong knowledge of retail store operations and inventory management principles.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with vendors.
- Familiarity with retail operations, logistics, and product management practices.
- Strong Microsoft Excel Proficiency
- Proficient in using point of sale and purchasing software for tracking purchases, inventory levels, and price updates.
- Strong analytical skills to assess pricing structures and market conditions effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
